Illimis Chenin Blanc 2017: RRP £36. We love this Chenin from South Africa and it has a real edge over so many. From the cooler, high elevation ward of Elgin, this has superb tension and structure. “Pear, white peach and yellow apple on the nose. Good fruit definition, coated acidity and a gently savoury finish. A delicately fruited, but powerfully composed wine.”

Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Pret A Blanc 2019: RRP £32.56. An aromatic number with a nod to the great wines of Alsace. 55% Riesling, 25% Pinot Gris, 20% Sylvaner - a wine for the Riesling lovers, but with a little more spice, breadth and texture. Grapefruit pith, chalky notes, and new season blossom.

Matthiasson Family Vineyards “Linda Vista” Chardonnay 2017: RRP £37. The Matthiasson’s house literally looks on to this vineyard, one of the vest best in Oak Knoll, Napa. Golden Delicious apples, yellow peaches, musk melon, and honey on the nose and through to the palate, the medium acidity is balanced by pleasant fleshiness, finishing very clean with a hint of minerality.
