A funky, fresh Californian white, and a red to blow your socks off!
We’ve selected Wine Hooligans Seamonster Eclectic white - a zippy, textured white of Riesling, Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Chardonnay with plenty of exotic aromatics; bashed lemongrass, honeydew melon, tangerine and semi-dried apricot. And the red? Wine royalty Rory Williams (son of the founder of Frog’s Leap winery) has conjured up this rather impressive old vine Carignane. You’re drinking a bit of Californian history here, with fruit sourced from two sites, one planted in 1942, and one in 1954. Oodles of blackberry, bruised sage and rosemary and a deep raspberry coulis core, matched with savoury components and well integrated tannins.
