The new and the great - three countries, six wines

from 165.58

We had to put this case together to give you a chance to taste some new wines from us. It’s a great mix, with a white and red from each country we work with - covering you from light aperitif Pinot Gris, to richer whites, a light and juicy red to full bodied from six different producers as well.

The whites:

Australia - From Sunday’s Lucetta Roux Pinot Gris 2018 - crunchy green apple, lime, dried pear with lipsmacking saline finish. Perfect aperitif or with light, fresh dishes - pair with ceviche and you’re on to a winner!

South Africa - Voetstoots Chenin Blanc 2016 - old vine Chenin rocking it. Super peachy and sweet sun ripened melon. Rocky and fresh as well - killer stuff from Stellebosch.

California - Donkey and Goat Perli Chardonnay 2016 - oh so grown up and sophisticated. Very fine aromatics: lemony and bright with a fine spiciness. There’s a slight mealiness, too. The palate is concentrated with nice ripe citrus fruit, a fine spicy dimension, and some stony minerality. So distinctive, vital, lemony and spicy. Such finesse and purity here. 94/100. Dr Jamie Goode, The Wine Anorak.

Australia - Vignerons Schmolzer & Brown Pret a Rouge 2017 - 60/40 Syrah/Pinot Noir. “A beautiful thing to drink - spicy, with perfume, dried herb, cranberry and raspberry. Medium-bodied, wonderful crunch and energy, a pomegranate/cranberry juice acidity and flavour, playful scratch of tannin, and a cool spicy finish. ." - Gary Walsh (The Wine Front)

South Africa - Shiner Chapter 1 Rouge 2016 - A Stellenbosch Bordeaux blend that packs a punch! Black berries, lilies and scrub on the nose, as well as more brooding notes of earth, liquorice and cedar. Rounded and full bodied.

California - Calder Wine Co Petite Sirah 2015 - Rutherford beauty! Plentifully inky with some chew, but it’s certainly smooth - dark chocolate dipped crystallised orange, coffee beans, clove, blue berries and red currants. A wine laden with rich fruit and spice with plenty of cellaring time scope!
